What is Meditation / Mindfulness?

Meditation and Mindfulness are practical and simple methods of being present, and attaining a state of relaxation and self-awareness.

Over time, with regular practice, many people find that Meditation and Mindfulness help to lessen stress, anxiety and depression, and to experience a higher degree of self-acceptance. You’ll begin to develop skills to counter many of your everyday sufferings.

Research has suggested that the benefits are due to the psycho-physical experience relaxation induces i.e. blood pressure drops, heart rate decreases and breathing slows and deepens.

Studies have shown that with regular, long-term practice our brain ‘rewires’ itself so that the neural pathways that make us calmer and less reactive are strengthened and used more frequently.

One of the greatest benefits of this therapy is developing strength and resolve in regards to making decisions based on self-worth, rather than anger and frustration.
