What is Physio?
Physiotherapists are highly qualified health professionals who work in partnership with their clients to help them get better and stay well.
Physiotherapists also work closely with GPs to plan and manage treatment. GPs refer more patients to Physiotherapists than any other healthcare profession.
Using advanced techniques and evidence-based care, Physiotherapists assess, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of health conditions and movement disorders.
- repair damage
- reduce stiffness and pain
- increase mobility
- improve quality of life
What can OnPoint Physiotherapy do for you?
Our team of Physiotherapists can assist you and your family with a wide range of problems including postural issues, sports injuries and persisting pain. We use the most up to date treatment methods.
Whether you want immediate pain relief or a long-term action plan for management and prevention, we will work by your side to achieve your goals.
You don’t need a GP referral to visit. We help family members of all ages, active weekend warriors, and athletes who need serious sports physio. Our Physios have helped thousands upon thousands of everyday people on the Gold Coast, and more specifically Ashmore, Molendinar, Southport, Nerang and Carrara, to jump back into life!
What can you expect from your first appointment?
As there are some forms to fill out before your first appointment try to arrive 5-10mins early. On most days we run very close to time.
During the first appointment your OnPoint Physio will ask you several questions about your condition. The Physio will then perform a range of physical tests to identify the source of pain and the root cause of the problem. Flexibility, strength and posture will be examined and the results will be communicated with you.
After the physical exam, it’s always good to discuss some ways in which to prevent the pain from returning i.e. proper lifting technique, sleeping position etc. Personal goals will be identified as we are interested in whether you want immediate pain relief or a long-term action plan.
Hands-on treatment usually consists of a combination of techniques which may include mobilization, deep tissue massage, dry needling & local ultrasound. An exercise program will be provided to help speed up the effects of your investment.
After the hands-on treatment, key tests will be performed again to gauge improvement, just to make sure we’re on the right track. You will be given an idea of timeframes for return to sport & return to work.
If the Physio deems it necessary, you may be referred for investigations such as X-Rays or MRI.
So what are you waiting for, we would love you to call or book online.
